ARA Networks, a Korean Internet Traffic Management company, has announced that it has released a new version of PPTM, a peer-to-peer traffic management solution.
PPTM is a solution that controls the peer-to-peer traffic generated by the most popular P2P applications including Kazaa, eDonkey, WinMX, and Gnutella. Unlike other Traffic Management solutions in the market, PPTM offers a unique system structure that uses fiber or UTB tab to duplicate network traffic. By using this mirroring method, PPTM does not interfere with network traffic even under hardware failure, thus providing unparalleled reliability and dependability.
In the new upgrade, PPTM offers comprehensive real-time monitoring tools, a Server Clustering option, and integrated Winny support for the Japanese market. The real-time monitoring feature actively analyzes traffic and instantly enforces network policies. The Server Clustering option lets network administrators install multiple servers as one server pool. Using the hashing method to load balance, PPTM can handle unlimited traffic loads. This feature and the mirroring method is specially beneficial to service providers who need higher performance and reliability.
