An IA-64 JAGUAR2000 porting demonstration was held with technical staff from Samsung Electronics in the Daejeon head office of ARA Network Technologies on Dec 13.
IA-64 (dubbed Itanium) is the next generation microprocessor which is 64-bit chip developed by Intel.
As JAGUAR2000, the world-top cache solution of ARA Network Technologies, is successfully ported in Turbo Linux, it is expected to show even better performance in the future.
Samsung Electronics formed a strategic alliance with Intel as the company's only Asian region partner. Samsung recently formed alliances with about 10 domestic solution companies, including ARA Network Technologies to develop software for the IA-64 server with Intel's support fund and self-produced fund.
